depends if you are doing it for submission or emission but the side seems easiest as you can pull him tight to your crotch to control him and get his to submit or if doing it to get off Grundy against him tight to get hard and get off
What is nice about his position on you for the scissors is that he's mobilized your arms so you can't twist on his ankles to force him to break the hold. I had some good advice to never scissor a man from behind. He can easily twist your ankles to force you to break the hold.
