Maybe we need a Skype spin-off - with a gut punishment theme, where we watch each other do interesting things to our guts. I used to get underneath a chair or bed leg and (in a controlled way) let it dig into my gut. I would flex to keep it from going in too deep and sometimes let it go in a little deep and it felt like it was crushing my guts, very satisfying. I did it again recently but instead of partially flexing I used my knees to keep it from crushing me too hard.

A 7 pound macebell is perfect for pushing into guts. Ball is about 3 inches in diameter with a 36 inch handle to push with.

This is similar to another post where I listed an assortment of objects used on my gut. Here's the list, but doesn't include everything I've used: Heavy shoes, broomstick, broomstick in a tennis shoe, for a two handed thrust, ten pound dumbbell, sledge hammer, five pound free weights, river rocks, and plenty of other things over the years. Regarding the comment about the photo, it does look endearing, but inward pressure won't prevent breathing, it'll just reduce the volume of air for each breath. Maybe if a LOT of pressure is applied directly up and into the diaphragm, it could be. I've been on my back with a guy's full weight on the knee he's jammed into my gut. It drove a lot of air out, but I still could take short breaths. I'd like a heavy, well muscled guy to lean as much of his weight as possible into my gut with his fist, then move things around in there. I agree, it's best to have an empty stomach. I don't know about permanent damage, but it hasn't happened to me so far.

I use a pull up bar that has a little padding and angle it at about 60 degrees to the floor. I normally aim it just below the belly button. I then lean onto it slowly with all my weight, resisting with my ab musles for as long as I can. Causing skin and muscle pain as a warm up. Always prefer using my fist and fingers as I press down into relaxed abs/gut so I feel the warmth, resistance, and spine if they can stay relaxed for it.
