Skype is just the current version of "tell me what you want to do to me" from the instant messenger days, some guys just want the fantasy and to get off but have no intention to follow through.
Another option is their photos are fake/old. Met a guy about 20 years ago that was a good 150lbs and at least 10 years out from his photo, all while showing me his new SLR camera.
Well, it's hard to fake one's appearance on Skype. From that standpoint, Skype keeps people a bit more honest.
That it's the current version of "tell me what you want to do to me," isn't a big issue to me, as long as the person isn't trying to manipulate through deception. If a person is up front about what they do or don't have to offer, it's okay, even if Skype'ing is all they want to do.
I've never failed to respond to a Skype request. It would take me a bit of time to establish trust sufficient to meet in person, but considering I walk downtown late at night in hopes of meeting strangers into it, perhaps not too long of a time. I think I only need the assurance that I could walk away from a session intact enough that I could come back for another one in a week or so.
