Olympic Champion - Mijain Lopez (Cuba)
A 4th successive Gold Medal, after his victory in the Men's 130kg Greco-Roman Final.
It wouldn't surprise me if he goes for a 5th, in Paris.
He is a great example to everyone, of a guy that has a true passion for his Sport.
Personally, i much prefer the Heavyweight Freestyle contests, but this guy is worthy of a look in, anyday.

04/08/2021 8:30I watched the clip on BBC, it would appear this is his last games, but every athlete has a right to continue if they can still train!
Who knows.
I too prefer Freestyle, but you can’t degrade the fact he’s been so successful!
Cubs does seem to excel at wrestling & boxing - shame UKSport won’t fund a wrestling team - I’m sure there’s plenty of guys who are capable of the job & would be proud to represent Team GB

Thank you forthe comment. Indeed. Correct me if I'm wrong, but i think that Olympic Wrestling only received £260k in funding in 2020/21

07/08/2021 12:32I don’t know how much funding was received - but the fact we can’t put a team together is a shame.
Especially as a Scottish wrestler got a Silver at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games and had now turned to the dark side (pro wrestling!).
