TOROSO's blog
Over the years.
Hi, its me. Annoying Attention Seaking 22 year old. Its been nearly 3 years being on here and i do have some words to say, i am part of the problem of what id like to talk about today, assuming anyone reads this.
My question is, when did we as the meetfighter community switch from fighting and talking about recomendations. To slightly upgraded Bear411... or Grindr?
Granted i see a few fighters talk about trips and getaways. Going to seminars. however a good majority of all that i see is just cheap attempts porn. Even more so now with the two sister-sites "Watch and Chat fighters"
Why is it so hard these days to even find likeminded people to learn from? Where did all the talented people that actually brought prestege to the site go?
No one ever wants to find a place and meet for just a good match. People rarely glace at what a person can offer to be a better fighter, and stare at their bulge or ass instead.
Personally. I am trying not to do this as much. Id wish we remember why this site was made.
I dont want this place to turn into glorified pornhub.
What are your thoughts? Agree Or am i just a silly little gay? Id love a discussion. Thank you for your time and patience.
EDIT:
Post your complaints and thoughts in the COMMENT section, not my message box.
Im not an admin or anyone of power, and we miss some valid points.

24/04/2023 18:55Spot on. I get passed over so much because people aren't looking for fights, they're looking for perfect 10s.

The worst is when they just chat and chat, for YEARS. abd never have an intention or plan to meet.

24/04/2023 22:04I don't know how this could be a pornhub since there is no erotic content on this site other than a few forum posts and blog stories. Sure, some people wrestle to get turned on while others just want pure competitive wrestling. There's room for everyone and the profiles are usually clear about what the member wants. And if there's any ambiguity, a few messages should clear that up. WatchFighters and ChatFighters serve their purpose.

I used pornhub AND grindr as a loose example.
I get what you are saying i just feel the transition is happening as if...
Watch -> pornhub.
Meet/chat -> grindr.
In a perfect world people would state all their terms. But dont.
So bares repeatin

I've been here for 10 years. I don't see a transition happening. Everything here seems to work the same as it did 10 years ago.

Which may or may not be healthy in and of itself.

24/04/2023 22:05I couldn't agree more. When I first joined here almost 6 years ago, It was to better my wrestling ability, get exercise, and rebuild my stamina. If gratuitous sex happened, so be it. I soon learned that being on here was a lot like going to a gay bar. If they don't want to have sex with you, they don't even want to know you. I fell into the trap myself, because I found that if I want to get opponents to wrestle here I have to give them what they want. With all that said Toroso, I apologize if I was one of the guilty parties that made it seem that it was more about the sex than the wrestling. I firmly believe that with your build and training you would be a formidable opponent who I would welcome on my mats in gear, any time. I bet you could teach this old dogs some new tricks and I would work to teach you some old one.

25/04/2023 10:00I think it’s partly just the whole world has become more sexualised (just an observation there rather than a negative judgement).
In the past, when I just wanted to train martial arts, I would join a local club. I just saw this site for when I might want “something more”, but I think my mind is slowly changing and I wish there were some more group meet-ups closer by as I would just like to train and improve in an environment I can relax and just be myself without worrying about being judged.
Well, perhaps I’m getting off topic now, but I guess my point is there is usually something for everyone - just it might now take more searching to find it. And my appreciation goes out to the people on here putting in a lot of time and effort organising wrestling/boxing/fight opportunities for this community.

28/04/2023 22:18I've never had the impression that this place is similar to Grindr or a hook up site. Almost all of my meetups have been premeditated and often planned for weeks or far in advance.
As for the erotic nature of the site, well this site is primarily gay men, and also for most of us it's a fetish, and that's exactly how I use the website, so I don't see anything wrong with that? Let people use the site for what they want. If it's sexy meetups, then so be it.
Anyone who wants anything else should just make it clear in the profile as to what they're looking for and that's it. This site caters to many styles and interests and that's what's great about it. If you're having difficulty meeting people, that sucks, but that's also common to most people here. There are a lot of members who are really spread out and typically not in the same city, country, or continent. By keeping in touch with anyone no matter the distance, you're that much closer to making a meet happen one day, even if it's years later.

Spot on. Guys are on here for a broad range of reasons. Just make clear your expectations, and do the slow painful verification/proofing needed to weed out those who don't truly share your interests.

10/05/2023 23:04I have to agree with you, when I see more and more profiles with just a bare stomach pix, and repeated over and over again, no wrestling or boxing pictures to speak of, but I guess everyone’s here for different reasons.
I do like to fight, so it’s in my DNA and it’s what leads to erotic stimulation, that’s doesn’t always end in a happy ending, for me, it’s the journey, not the destination
