Keep negative for covid ... but positive for MF
Happy 2022, everyone. Keep safe; be careful. Sadly, covid ain't yet licked and that's a negative with (here in the UK) just 30 minutes remaining of 2021 ... but, as ever, I do remain very positive about our excellent site MF as we move into 2022.
Personally double-jabbed and with booster, but with omicron variant said to be rampant here in the UK (new infections apparently doubling every couple of days) I did cancel (with reasonable notice) one long-planned meeting: thank you for your understanding, Chris!
But MF meetings/matches are still taking place and this is great. I've always felt that the "style" of MF is one of mutual tolerance, mutual concern and care. And somehow, in spite of the pandemic, we are still, it seems, getting together for whatever floats our particular boat, wrestling-wise.
But I hope none of us will ever be embarrassed to enquire about a potential opponent's vaccination status, to ask for evidence of a very recent covid-negative test - or be offended if we are questioned closely. That frame of mind, I think, is how (now most are vaccinated) we CAN still meet. Any such enquiries should not be taken amiss.

PS Would you ever consider meeting someone who, maybe for some reason of principle, has refused any vaccinations?

In these difficult times, with Omicron running rampant across the U.K. (indeed most of the world) its safety first for yourself but also any opponent you might wish to meet.
I’m not to keen meeting right now with the case numbers as high as they are (family reasons) but once they’re back under some sort of control (be that a natural peak of curve or further restrictions) then having matches will be easier for me to consider.
Anyway, let’s hope everyone can keep as safe as they can - move into 2022 with some optimism that maybe things will get better!
