1. Chat is not working!

We have both a flash-based and a web-based chat system. Apparently neither works on 100% of PC's out there, especially on older, Windows-based machines. To fix this, go to the Administration page, and try to select an alternate chat system. Hopefully you will find one that works!

Please see the chat help page for more details.

2. How does photo moderation work?

On AllFighters, we have a community-based image moderation system in place. Every time a new photo is uploaded, it goes through a classification process before it can appear in someone's profile.

Sexually explicit photos can not appear in profiles at all, although certain "softcore" photos may be permitted. For a full explanation of the categories, see this site news entry. You can also check out some of the recently moderated photos for an example of each category.

The photo moderation guidelines are:

  • Sexual content
    • Photos with nudity (frontal or rear), explicit sexual content, crotch grabbing or S&M should be marked as "Sexual content".
    • Sexual content includes nudity that is "edited out" or "blocked out".
  • Softcore content
    • Photos that have mild erotic content (closeup of ass or crotch, face sitting), or where the outline of penis is visible, should be marked "Softcore".
    • If a photo makes you think "bulge", or if it is something you cannot do on daytime television, it's "softcore".
  • Gallery photos
    • If there are more than one people on the photo, it's "gallery", unless it is somehow perfectly clear which guy is the profile owner. This includes "action shots" of actual matches.
    • Photos with drawings, logos, sceneries, or where not personal traits are visible, should be marked as "Gallery".
    • If the photo doesn't inform you about what a guy is like (e.g. only a shirt or a hand or a foot is visible), it's "Gallery".
    • Photos of known production companies (e.g. BG East) that show the copyright notice or are otherwise recognisable, should be "Gallery" or "Softcore Gallery".
    • Photos where the person depicted doesn't match the age, weight, etc. of the profile owner, should also be marked as "Gallery".
  • Clean profile photos
    • Other photos should be marked as "Clean profile photo" or "Clean profile photo with face".
    • Face means you would recognize the guy based on the photo if he walked up to you on the street.

3. I can't send messages or chat. What gives?

Following a rather lively discussion of a new blog entry about providers and consumers, it was decided that members with incomplete profiles shall not be able to initiate communication on the site anymore.

Profile checklist

  • Make sure your height and weight are set correctly.
  • Mark at least one of the styles.
  • Upload at least one profile photo. (Private or gallery photos will not do.) If you have recently uploaded photos, you might have to wait for them to be classified.
  • Write an introduction for yourself.

What functionality is unavailable if my profile is incomplete?

  • You won't be able to initiate messages or challenges. (You can still reply if you receive one.)
  • You won't be able chat.

Can't you make an exception? I really can't upload a photo!

No. I am sorry!

If you need computer help, try to get some from your friends. I'm fairly certain you can do it if you really try. Also note that your photo doesn't have to be an ID photo.

There are actually two exceptions: members who have donated are exempt from the restrictions above (gold donation or above). This is not an attempt to get you to donate, though! This is a simply gesture to those who have encouraged me and helped the site; it would seem unfair to suddenly make the site they have helped no longer work for them.

The other exception is that you can always send a message to the site administrator, so you can ask for help if you need any. :)

4. How do I create a recommendation?

Please follow these steps:

  1. Go to the profile of the person you wish to recommend.
  2. Click on the "Recommendations" tab.
  3. Scroll down to the bottom of the tab, and click on the "New recommendation" button there.
  4. Enter your recommendation on the next page, and click on "Save".

5. How do I remove a recommendation?

Please follow these steps:

  1. Go to the profile of the person you no longer wish to recommend.
  2. Click on the "Recommendations" tab.
  3. Scroll down to the bottom of the tab, and click on the "Remove Recommendation" button there.

There is another way: go to your own profile, and select your recommendations tab. Scroll down until you find the recommendations that you have written, and click on the "Remove Recommendation" button there.

6. How do I block someone from contacting me?

If someone is bothering you, the easiest and least aggravating way of dealing with it (other than somehow making peace, of course) is blocking that person.

  1. Go to his profile page.
  2. Scroll to the bottom, and click on the "Block this member" button.
  3. Confirm your choice by clicking on "Yes I'm sure" next.

You can unblock the same way. Blocking has a number of consequences:

  1. You cannot see the profile of members whom you have blocked, nor can they see yours.
  2. You cannot send them messages, nor can they message you.
  3. You cannot write recommendations for them.
  4. The only exception is abuse flags. (The reason is so that abuse flags can not be evaded by blocking.)

7. How do I delete my profile?

Profile removal is self-service, accessible on the Administration page. Once a profile is removed, all relationships, photos and abuse flags associated with it are purged. However, the forum posts, blog comments and recommendations remain.

Be aware that it is not possible to register with the same name again! For this reason, if you believe that you might want to use our site again sometime in the future, consider suspending your profile instead.

8. How do I change my user name?

Short answer: you can't (see blog post and votes here). There is a reason for that: in addition to being a personals site, AllFighters is also a social networking site. This means that once we get to know you as "SuperGrappler", that is who you are to us. If you change your name to something else, all the knowledge about you as "SuperGrappler" is lost, and we must meet you again with your new alias. Consequently, name changes are detrimental to how the site is supposed to work. Sure, you could delete your profile, and create a new one with your latest and greatest name, but there are some drawbacks: You lose all your favorites, past opponents, recommendations and messages.

9. How can I help AllFighters?

There are a few ways you can contribute to our site.

  • Spread the word! Invite people you've met, good guys who have an interest in wrestling or fighting! There is a reason that AllFighters is not advertised much: we believe in organic growth and word-of-mouth. We think that it helps a community grow better this way than letting in unfiltered masses from the wild net. :)
  • Flag fakes. Set abuse flags on profiles that you know for a fact to be fallacious.
  • Share your ideas or comment on ones posted before. Our suggestion box is always open!
  • Donate if you think our site is worth it and you have some money to spare for our cause. We are not affiliated with any advertising networks or video production companies, as we are afraid that such tie-ins could jeopardize our mission of creating the best wrestling personals site out there!

Any help is appreciated!
