MeetFighters Mobile App - closed alpha starting soon
Dear Fighters,
We're extremely pumped to announce the upcoming launch of the official MeetFighters Mobile App! The knockout feature will undoubtedly be the real-time notification system for both Apple and Android, ensuring you're instantly notified whenever you receive a message.
We all know this was missing for MF, and after using the App for a few days myself, man, it feels good to get a notification, tap it, and it opens the message:
We were initially hesitant about developing our App due to the Apple App Store's restrictions on erotic or violent public content, as well as the sheer workload that this project brings. But thanks to your continuous contributions, we can now afford the long journey to develop an Apple and Android App! Some veterans might remember that an Android App was started but quickly abandoned 8 years ago. It was not possible to go to iOS at that time for various reasons.
The good news is that the wait is nearly over! The first version will soon be open for testing. This initial release will serve as a companion to MeetFighters.com, functioning as "MeetFighters Messenger". However, rest assured, we plan to integrate more of our website's features into the App, too. But we need to start somewhere, and Messaging benefits the most thanks to the notification system.
Simultaneously, as we roll out our Open Beta for new messenger page, we're also getting ready to launch a closed alpha test for the MeetFighters App.
For this alpha phase, we're calling upon our dedicated community members to join the testing process and share their constructive feedback and ideas.
Although we're eager to release the App, it's still a work in progress, with daily updates and fast development. To effectively manage the feedback, we will be restricting the number of participants.
Those keen on joining and contributing are warmly invited. However, if you're only interested in using the App without actively participating in the feedback process, we kindly ask you to hold off on requesting access for now.
Requirements for Participation
- A genuine willingness to share constructive feedback, crash reports, or relevant screenshots.
- iPhone: An active Apple ID email and an iPhone with TestFlight installed.
- (TestFlight is Apple's public app beta program, and it'll grant you access to the App.)
Android: Knowledge of how to side-load Apps (APK)- [Update: 5th Nov.] Android: An active Google account email.
How to Participate
Initiate a ticket and provide:- For Android: Your Google account email for the invitation.
- For iPhone: Apple ID Email for TestFlight invitation.
- Don't comment your email address below this news post. Use the ticket system. Comments displaying email addresses will be promptly removed without warning.
- Specify your platform (e.g., "iPhone" or "Android")
- Specify your device type (e.g., iPhone 15 Pro Max).
- Mention your current OS version (e.g., iOS 16).
- Any other information that might be pertinent
Once the testing is complete and we reach a stable version, we will open up for more Beta testers and finally release the App in the App Stores.
Once more, thank you for your contribution. Without you, our constant development of MeetFighers would not be possible.
Best regards,
MeetFighters

29/10/2023 20:58Will this require additional language translation or a complete different one? Will translators be able to continue submitting texts and words under the current system? I want to help, but only with things related to translations.

01/11/2023 23:19Thank you all for the positive feedback here, but also over the tickets!
The first alpha invitations are sent out. If all goes well, we will add more very soon.
Regarding opening tickets, please read the news post above. It contains the link to the ticket system.
Regarding translation, as of now, the app is only submitted in English. Translations might be added later in the process. Our internal translations can be added and could be expanded for the app. However, I'm not sure if this is 'good enough' for the Apple review team or if we need to use the localization system provided by Apple - if anyone has experience with that - please contact us :)

05/11/2023 22:46This is very confusing your links are not that helpful when clicking on them, you say to create a ticket, cool. I go to look into making one to closed beta test and they are literally no ticket options or anything that might suggest that for me fill out.

18/11/2023 19:11The new app is becoming more and more promising. I don't think it needs to incorporate all the website features. You can do something even better than that. Ignore anything that is a distraction, such as blogs, forums, shortcuts to photo pages, videos, watchfighters and chatfighters. No need to visit the photo peer review with the occasional photo of a cock up close. I would prefer the fetish list to be kept away from the profile too, they just turn people off more than anything. Keep your focus entirely on directories and profiles. Add the search and chat features. Add gimmicks like opponent suggestion, profile of the day, and who added who as a real opponent recently (a.k.a. these two just had a fight) with their avatars illustrating the information and things like that.

Thank you for the kind words.
The plan is to implement all core features of MeetFighters, such as past opponents and recommendations that are still missing and a proper member's search.
The aim will be to stay as close as possible to the core values of MeetFighters. For all members only looking for Sex, we will offer our new website - and App.
However, what exactly will be part of the App and what not is still in fluid internal discussion - and also influenced by feedback like yours.
For now, we are busy improving and enhancing the current version and adding core functions.

23/11/2023 11:47Hello, desktop dev and Android user here, would be happy to test a reproducible build (in the sense of reproducible-builds.org) from a publicly available source tree, for obvious security reasons. What is the minimum SDK that you're going to support? (I see that Android 14 forces at least 23, per https://developer.android.com/about/versions/14/behavior-changes-all#minimum-target-api-level )
